Human memory and recall works nothing like a computer. A person is the sum of their memories. Recall in memory refers to the retrieval of information from the past.
Memory never decays, everything is stored in there but without rehearsal, memories become harder to access. Less relevant information becomes inaccessible and we are naturally left with the information that is most important to our daily survival i.e. forgetting helps us to learn new things.
Since memory does not decay, it may be revived. When we recall something more quickly, less learning occurs but when we work hard to get it to consciousness, we learn. The good learning methodologies involve not only testing the information but also reminding the thoughts in different contexts. The learning of people will be the best when they are exposed to the work in different ways. Generally people think that some things are harder to learn, and they give up or the past can not be changed .But reminding the thoughts from memory in different perspective may help us to modify the state of our past memories.
